Hi Jessica; Seem to be having transmission problems over here.my last comment I see was 23rd,however have sent three after that,maybe the dampness is affecting my PC,who knows,so I will try again. The situation is starting improve,waters have started to recede last day or so,but our task remains.We have has successful outcomes in the last 24 hours too. Hope you are getting some relax time,so enjoyed your stint on Wild Oats,I have been following them for a few years now over here,I bet it was a blast to be on board. Guess wheels will be up for you in a few days,you will so enjoy the big apple,it is no other city with such nightlife,it never sleeps. My last visit was 9/11,up to my neck in rubble and all the other tasks we performed,was a month I wont forget. By the way how did you get the mates to wear Pink,was impressed. @bengt, 27.08.,07:33am: You are having fears? Goodness, you should have been at Knox City Shopping Centre in Victoria, AU on the 08. Aug. when Jess signed books. From an Aboriginal's point of view we were all very scared that she might loose her spirit countless times over, given the amount of photos being taken with her in it, but she toughened up and confronted this challenge in an amazing effort. Dear, dear Jessica! Beverly here in Tasmania. I met you when you were here at Dymocks for a book signing. We bought a book for each of us because we didn't want each other to smudge up the book, lol. You didn't mention in all your cities that you came to Hobart, albeit for only an hour. The line went extremely fast for which I was glad because it was the first day in months that I had been out of bed and I even put on makeup to come and meet you which I hadn't done in over 1-1/2 years - ever since I tried to die in Oct 08. My my, you are soooo TINY!!! I am gob- smacked as to how you could handle EPL, changing out sails, weathering those storms, fixing engines, enduring knockdowns etc, as little as you are. Whenever I think about your journey, then I think about you sitting at the table at the book signing and recall how tiny you are, well, I'm just flabbergasted. I just can't comprehend how you did it - well I do know, God was right there with you helping you every nm you went. I am super glad I do have a signed book. I'm going to go out and buy the CD/DVD also. For some of the Jessaholics: Transplanted Aussie; - YOU ARE ONE EXCEPTIONAL MAN!!! Just since we have known you, you have been everywhere doing things others can't do and helping people who have lost everything, giving them HOPE, LOVE, KINDNESS, and most of all YOURSELF. There are no words to express how proud I am of you I'm an American living in Tasmania. Hey Captain Jesse, The book has hit number one and why not. I have read about eighty pages in one go and got into trouble from my children for neglecting them and my house duties. Will finish the read tonight. Again, congratulations on such a well written account of your journey thus far. Once you have moved on a bit you should write a book about your journey after the event, the effects on you and your family, the effects on persons you have met and so on. Hi Jessica, Wow ! arent you just doing fine, not that I ever doubted that you would, and as long as you can keep your feet firmly on the ground in spite of all the attention the world will continiue to adore you. Oh, you look very smart in your winter coat, maybe you have to fit in a little modelling of sport type clothing or develop your own range in between studying math and learning to drive and all the rest you try to fit in. Oh, you should not admonish members of the public for finding what you call lame jokes funny because it dont help them or you feel better, and you must remember that so many people just adore your down to earth style and you do have a turn of phrase that lend itself well to humour. Other than that, take care of that throat, there is plenty of germs about that can cause laryngitis, so don`t push yourself too hard and give it time to recover. Take care Regards from Niels

Hi Jessica and Beverly I too am hoping that from time to time you will let us know how you are going Jesse. Maybe even some words of wisdom about how you are coping with the calm times and more turbulent times of your new journey with Mike (LOL - it's none of my business! but I'm guessing you will handle the unexpected, the stormy and the quieter more peaceful moments with Mike just like you did on your 7 month journey around the world). To Beverly from the Apple Isle. I don't think I can really help. I don't know much at all about the condition you are coping with. Let me say, if you want to take a leaf out of Jessica's (soon to be published) book - one thing that will always stick in my memory is her comment that after being knocked down by a huge wave in the southern ocean she came up smiling - because she survived what the world was throwing at her. That is a great attitude to take through life I reckon. If you could perhaps realise that there are millions of people around the world who have downers from time to time and hopefully realise that one of the many ways to help you through those tough times is to wear a bit of Jessica's magical attitude then hopefully it will give you just a little extra push to lift your spirits. Best of luck Beverly. I know it is easy for me to say those things and I'm not sure what you are enduring in your life at the moment. Being kind to others (as you have shown in your recent blog) is I'm sure something else that will help you. 06-20-10 @ 21:35 Hi Jessica, Seems like a long time since I’ve written to you, things are quieting down somewhat. But I have some nearly good news for you Australians, Marcus Ambrose almost won the Sprint Cup Road Race in Sanoma Ca. today. He was leading the race with about seven laps to go and there was a caution flag thrown. While they were getting the track cleaned up everyone was just waiting for the green flag to be thrown again, Marcus was trying to conserve fuel and was shutting his engine off and coasting for a distance. But one time he couldn’t restart his engine and he fell back in line about six places. He then got it started and repositioned himself at the lead, but that was against the rules. The judges and referees made him go back to the seventh position and restart there. With only about six laps left Marcus didn’t stand much of a chance at winning. Jimmie Johnson went on to win the event. Even though I like the Hendricks Racing Team I still wanted to see Marcus win, but it was a costly mistake that he made. He proved himself as a driver and will eventually get his first win in NASCAR, I’m looking forward to that. It was one hell-uv-a race……..I hope all is well with you, I pick up little tid-bits of information from the newspapers and your info page and keep up with you that way. Good luck with the book, I’m really looking forward to reading it, and until then I’m wearing my “P” hat…lol… Take good care of yourself and write when you get a chance.
