Hi all, less than a week ago when I heard that Oceanswach (which is an environmental/ humanitarian/ aid organization, were looking for people to crew on there boats this season I jumped at the chance as I am desperate for as much sailing experience as possible. Here I am in New Zealand! For the last few days I`v been working to get the boat (Magic Roundabout) ready for sea with the other crew; James, Mel and the Skipper, Chris.
Working in the cold and rain of New Zealand (lol!) is something new but I`m learning loads already. We plan to leave mid next week, weather permitting and head for Port Villa, Vanuatu. The trip should take about ten days. Cant wait!!

Like the others I was compelled to return to the first blog and retrace/relive your voyage. God Bless you Dear you are a Champion.
Jessica has set out on an amazing journey and is living her dream.
All we can say we support her with words and thoughts of encouragement and that she arrives safe , sound and happy.
She is a remarkable person.
I thought I would go right back to the Start- this is the Starting line.
Now just as you enter the Heads tomorrow I'll bet all sorts of things are going through your mind.
What a journey! You will be amazed as you read back through all the blogs.
As I followed you around Cape Horn and my students and I got onto your blog in the Atlantic and then around past Cape Agulhas, South Africa- they a blogged a little they became concerned about the Tsunami and thought you may have been caught up in that.
I said a different Ocean!
Then wandering across the Indian Ocean and making lazy circles in the sea when the wind dropped right-off.
Little did we know the dramas of the Southern Ocean- but I had a clue and blogged that I hoped it would be kind to you.
Then it started and my tears of relief when you finally came on air again and blogged you were on the Eastern side of Tassie!
Whew!
We cheered - I bet you even heard it!
So a geography lesson was apart of my students literacy lesson- learning does not happen in "boxes" but must be incorporated across the curriculum - and it has to be lived! My students have learnt alot about perseverence and following a dream without the excuses and...Buts...
You know that now. Your education has been perfect for you!
You just need rounding out now so keep at it - learning never stops!
Anyway enough of my silly ramblings.
God Bless you Jessica
PS. Your writing is marvellous - you must be proud - another lesson for my students!
