It’s been another busy week. Starting with the book, (which is now finished and has gone to print!), getting my L’s, interviews for the documentary down in Sydney, more interviews, plus all sorts of other odds and ends, including getting Ella’s Pink Lady out again this afternoon with a few friends.
Ella’s Pink Lady still gets a steady stream of visitors coming down to take a look from the shore and I’m sure she was as happy to get out on the water today as I was. It was great to go for a nice easy sail out around Old Woman Island with a bunch of girls. Sort of Champagne sailing, but without the champagne!
The documentary is coming together well, thanks to a lot of hard work from all the guys in the edit suite. There’s some pretty fun clips, as well as a lot of stuff from the voyage that I struggle to watch, as it’s way too powerful for me. I’m also really excited because we’ve confirmed a very special guest who is going to do the voiceover on the doco. I won’t say who it is just yet, but stay tuned!
I’ve not been able to get up a lot of driving time yet. Just a few quick drives in Sydney (Frase was very brave to let me take the wheel of his car!) and on the Sunshine Coast where Dad put on a helmet before getting in the car with me!
Getting the book to print so fast has been a pretty amazing team effort with a lot of overtime, particularly from Vanessa, my publisher at Hachette – thanks Vanessa! And also to Mum, Dad and Bruce for all the time spent checking over dates and facts. I’m happy that I’ve put my best effort into the book, so from here on, all I can do is hope that everyone enjoys it too!
Lots of exciting things planned as always, but sadly it’s also looking like there’s going to be a little time for getting stuck into some maths before the book launch. This will be on 29 July, followed by the Sydney International Boat Show, then lots of travelling during August and September.

Hope you have time to see this as you have a busy schedule........You signed my book in Canberra on Wednesday and i just said hello and thanks, as it would be impolite to hold all the others up, and your time was limited.....Liked the book and relived lots of times i had on the blog......You never know I might just drop in one day and be lucky enough to find you around......All the very best for the future, whatever you decide to do and i hope you make a mint out of the book, talks and endorsements.... You are not just ordinary, you are extraordinary......Neil of Goulburn

OMG, I just looked at your grueling schedule! I hope you still like people after your month-long Aussie book tour.
You're going to be straight out for many days. Enjoy your time with the public, feel the love!!! and try to stay centered. Eat lots of chocolate and occasionally veggies for your brain and stamina!
with lots of love to you and all your family,

I am getting closer to my own goals of cruising full time (and diving remote locations). I found the yacht, now raising the money.

Hi Jessica,
WOW, you sure are going to be one busy lady throughout the month of August, but I know that’s the way you like it. I’m really glad for you and I hope the tour goes well. I figure there will be long lines to see you and get the book. I have a pre-order in with Amazon for a copy, and I hope it gets here in early September. Been missing hearing from you but I understand that there’s not much time with your busy schedule. So take good care of yourself and don’t overwork yourself, remember to take some “Jessica Time”. Looking forward to your next post and maybe some pictures, Yes??
Loads of love and hugs always. God will continue to hold you in the palm of His hands, and the Angels will keep you safe, and I pray that He will guide you through your up-coming years, Jessica. Your faithful friend, fan and follower Michael 75) from Kingwood, WV
