Just read ‘The Latest News’ article and was glad to see that you’re getting some ‘racing’ time in. I’m not familiar with all the different classes but it’s obvious that this is not a beginners class. I have to do some research on that. I expect that you will keep the crew on their toes and all of them working together, you do have an experienced crew.
Good luck to you and your crew, I’m sure that you’ll make a fine showing and leave the rest in your wake,…..Yes????? Of course!!!!! Dear, dear Jessica! Beverly here in Tasmania. I met you when you were here at Dymocks for a book signing. We bought a book for each of us because we didn't want each other to smudge up the book, lol. You didn't mention in all your cities that you came to Hobart, albeit for only an hour. The line went extremely fast for which I was glad because it was the first day in months that I had been out of bed and I even put on makeup to come and meet you which I hadn't done in over 1-1/2 years - ever since I tried to die in Oct 08. My my, you are soooo TINY!!! I am gob- smacked as to how you could handle EPL, changing out sails, weathering those storms, fixing engines, enduring knockdowns etc, as little as you are. Whenever I think about your journey, then I think about you sitting at the table at the book signing and recall how tiny you are, well, I'm just flabbergasted. I just can't comprehend how you did it - well I do know, God was right there with you helping you every nm you went. I am super glad I do have a signed book. I'm going to go out and buy the CD/DVD also. For some of the Jessaholics:

Just since we have known you, you have been everywhere doing things others can't do and helping people who have lost everything, giving them HOPE, LOVE, KINDNESS, and most of all YOURSELF. W.W. Laura is not making a non-stop unassisted voyage. She has always planned on her trip being a 2 year port to port trip. So her adventure and Jessicas are two different types.Main difference being that she can get help for any repairs needed and she can take her time since she can resupply at any of her stops. Oh, and there is the hot showers along the way as well :)

I have still not bought your book, but will do it. Perhaps a Christmas present for my self...
I have started to work and the evenings are getting darker. South Sweden is right now in the middle of warm air in east Russia) and cooler air in the west Great Britain), That causes low pressures moving in from south and with them front systems with lots and lots of rain. One evening we got 65 millimeters of rain just a few hours of time. We had a very dry summer and now all this rain fall, Not so good for the farmers.

@ Bill Wilkinson... I'm not related to Jessica in any way but here is my opinion to your question since Jess may not be able to answer you. I am only going off what I have heard so far and that is, that Laura Dekker ran away from home when she found out that she wasn't allowed to sail around the world. She did and I don;t care about how anyone justifies it. That's too young... That her parents went through the courts and made it possible for her to go as long as they except responsibility... I've heard she has already left but her blog has been shut down because of the criticism. That's not good if she hasn't got a great blog master/manager)... Her last reason to go was to beat Jessica Watson's record and then leaves at the wrong time of the year, when she could have still beaten Jess' record... I think there needs to be a limit Bill... I'd bring out the best in my children, and at 16 with the work they have put in I would support them with what ever they wanted to do within reason. A child at 14-16 I would give the freedom to succeed and a have the sense of independence and control. She's at the most vulnerable stage of every humans life. I'd let my child go around the world at age 14 but where maybe they wont know. I'll be there to pull them out... So yeah Bill Wilkinson, just my opinion, I think Laura is too young... Has Laura explained to her fans how she might not make it?... Good on you Laura! There needs to be a limit but you don;t need to set it. You are only a success if you give it your your best. My God... Take care Laura... Stop staying in between the broken lines Jess. lol

Just a quick update to you and the world family,we are here in Pakistan and what a task we face,reminds me A little of Haiti ,but the devastation so unbelievable to the eye.
We have been able to gain some ground in the last 24 hours,however mother nature is not letting up,seeing people get by on very little has become an everyday occurrence,aid is coming in daily,so the effort we be picking up speed we are hoping .
Hope this finds you doing well with your tour,guess by the looks of things seeing you in person in New York wont be in my plans,but I hope you understand I would be there in other circumstances,but in my case at present the job at hand comes first.
From what I hear the hot summer is starting to break in the North East of the US,so enjoy your visit,I know you will,hope you get to see some sights .My last visit I will never forget ground zero up to my neck in rubble with the team and our four legged members,a time I will never forget.
Got to go and get some rest,another day awaits us,take care,my regards to your family.

Had the pleasure to hear you talk, answer questions and sign our 3 copies of your book at Mentone Grammar. After seeing you in the flesh and looking at the slide show you presented, you are certainly one gutsy & tough cookie. Iam now looking forward to buying the DVD as was unable to watch the " doco" last night on One HD because I do not have HD TV.
Do you have plans in the future of bringing EPL back "home" to Melbourne. Have seen the Skipper would now love to see the boat.

Hi there Jess, we watched your documentary on Monday evening, I can see why you found it hard to watch yourself, very moving. You come from a very proud and wonderful family, the whole team has done a fantastic job and Sir Richard has a great voice for the narration.

@Chuck who sounds a lot like victor...lol Once upon a time I too was just a normal human being...until I found a normal girl living her dream...a normal girl who dreamed of eating chocolate all the way around the world.And although it may have melted at one stage she continued with her dream.It may have even got a little waterlogged and salty or taken on a lemon fresh taste,but still she persevered, letting nothing dissuade her in her passion.It was an inspirational quest.Though the Pringles fell by the wayside and the tomato sauce faltered,it was all about the chocolate!And now as I read about her extraordinary feat you can be sure that I would never carry Jessicas book home from the store with anything on top of it but Chocolate.Thus I am become a Jessaholic.

After following your Blog and watching your doco I can understand why most of us consider you to be of the True Spirit; which is often necessary to turn our dreams, ideas and visions into reality, but when it comes to bravery, yes, you are certainly there, followed very closely by you Parents particularly your Dad for obvious reasons From your Doco.)

Hi Jess, So good to read your blogs and to know that all is going well with the book launch. Have bought it, am in the middle of it and am now going to get the DVD and CD. Congratulations on such a good read even though I followed you every wave of the way !! Just a comment about sore throats from talking... get a few leaves of sage Julie will show you) pour boiling water on and leave to cool a bit, then strain it and gargle with this tea. It is excellent - singers in the know, use it to help with sore throats.

Just goes to show what a Wonderful Craft She Is; but most of all, what A Champion Sailor YOU ARE Jess. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who would have Bailed Out if it had happened to them. I Extend To You My Sincerest Congratulations JESSICA WATSON ..... You Are Definitely Not JUST A SCHOOL GIRL who Sailed Around The World . . . You are A TRUE ADVENTURER Who TOOK ON THE WORLD ....
