Since my last update, the book tour has taken me to Perth, Albany, Sydney again, Brisbane and today the Gold Coast. In between all of this, I had one day off in Perth, then of course, the documentary premiered on OneHD in Australia on Monday night, which was one of the highlights of the week.
After nearly being blown away in windy (but lovely of course!) Albany, the weather cleared up and we had a really nice few days in Perth, where we also had a press conference to announce my role as the Queensland ambassador for the Perth 2011 ISFA Sailing World Championships. I’m pretty honoured to be part of it!
My day off in Perth last Saturday was my first day off since the book tour started and it was story-book perfect. It started out with a lovely long walk along the river, an Ella Bache facial, a long bath and an afternoon of sailing at Fremantle on Jon Sanders' boat (Jon’s the guy who sailed around 3 times non-stop!) with David Dicks (David is a previous holder of the youngest round record) and his family. After so long it was great to get out again and great to see Perth from the water (see pics below).
So to finish and to quote Frase, despite the full-on schedule, I’m feeling as ‘strong as a rhinoceros’. In case you’re wondering, this ‘rhinoceros’ thing is a bit of a lame joke that I’m sure you’ll be hearing more of!
I’d really better finish up because I’m off to the Australian premiere of the movie The Other Guys tonight, so I'd better get ready.
Jess

Hi Jessica,
Just read ‘The Latest News’ article and was glad to see that you’re getting some ‘racing’ time in. I’m not familiar with all the different classes but it’s obvious that this is not a beginners class. I have to do some research on that. I expect that you will keep the crew on their toes and all of them working together, you do have an experienced crew.
Good luck to you and your crew, I’m sure that you’ll make a fine showing and leave the rest in your wake,…..Yes????? Of course!!!!! Take good care of yourself and I’m looking forward to seeing you when you make it to the U.S. Loads of love and hugs, and stay hooked on….lol… @ Beverly from Tasmania: Thank you for the kind words but don’t forget how faithful and supportive that you have been to Jessica, you’ve been through some hard and difficult times and still took the time to send some very nice supportive letters to Jessica, I’m sure she appreciated them. I know that I always enjoyed reading your posts to Jessica. Glad to see that you got out for awhile, take good care of yourself. Always remember Jessica, That God will continue to hold you in the palm of His hands, and the Angels will keep you safe, and I pray that He will guide you through your up-coming years Jessica, your doing a fine job of that. Your faithful friend, fan and follower Michael 75) from Kingwood, WV.

I just read your blog and I am really happy that you are so busy and involved in lots of things at the same time. Guess your life is ever so exciting...
I have still not bought your book, but will do it. Perhaps a Christmas present for my self...
I have started to work and the evenings are getting darker. South Sweden is right now in the middle of warm air in east Russia) and cooler air in the west Great Britain), That causes low pressures moving in from south and with them front systems with lots and lots of rain. One evening we got 65 millimeters of rain just a few hours of time. We had a very dry summer and now all this rain fall, Not so good for the farmers.
Wishing you a happy time and see you later,
Bo South Sweden
Just a quick update to you and the world family,we are here in Pakistan and what a task we face, reminds me A little of Haiti ,but the devastation so unbelievable to the eye.
We have been able to gain some ground in the last 24 hours, however mother nature is not letting up,seeing people get by on very little has become an everyday occurrence, aid is coming in daily,so the effort we be picking up speed we are hoping .
Hope this finds you doing well with your tour, guess by the looks of things seeing you in person in New York wont be in my plans, but I hope you understand I would be there in other circumstances, but in my case at present the job at hand comes first.
From what I hear the hot summer is starting to break in the North East of the US,so enjoy your visit,I know you will, hope you get to see some sights .My last visit I will never forget ground zero up to my neck in rubble with the team and our four legged members,a time I will never forget.
Got to go and get some rest, another day awaits us,take care,my regards to your family.
Aloha,
Stephen M.,
Transplanted Aussie,
in Pakistan flood rescues.
Had the pleasure to hear you talk, answer questions and sign our 3 copies of your book at Mentone Grammar. After seeing you in the flesh and looking at the slide show you presented, you are certainly one gutsy & tough cookie. Iam now looking forward to buying the DVD as was unable to watch the " doco" last night on One HD because I do not have HD TV.
Do you have plans in the future of bringing EPL back "home" to Melbourne. Have seen the Skipper would now love to see the boat.
Best wishes for your future
Congratulations, Queensland ambassador for the Perth 2011 ISFA Sailing World Championships!
They really-really made sure you wouldn't compete - not even incognito! :-)
Think your rhino joke has something to do with the Rhinoceros Party of Canada? Also a joke and on Wikipedia ( serious!).
Thank you for the photos, take care!
Well done and we will catch up one day maybe on the water some ware.
Keep the blogs coming?

Annie & Cam “H”
Congratulations on being named Queensland Ambassador for the Perth 2011 ISFA Sailing World Championships, I am sure you will handle the roll with great
professionalism.
After riding some horror waves on your voyage you are certainly on a wonderful one at the moment, lets hope this one never breaks.
Thank you for including Bendigo in your book tour, we usually left out in favour of Ballarat with this type of event, it was wonderful being a face in the crowd and getting you amazing book personally signed.
After following your Blog and watching your doco I can understand why most of us consider you to be of the True Spirit; which is often necessary to turn our dreams, ideas and visions into reality, but when it comes to bravery, yes, you are certainly there, followed very closely by you Parents particularly your Dad for obvious reasons From your Doco.)
Enjoy the rest of your tour, have fun and move lots of books in America. Will you catch up with Abby? Iam sure you would have lots to talk about.
Kindest Regards Ian C
Much love Bernadette
