Hey, did you know that it was New Zealand to be the first nation in the world to grant all women the right to vote. That was in 1893. Australia followed next before any other Country. @ Granny Watson, It’s great to hear from you. On one hand, I was so happy to hear that I was mistaking in thinking that you and Tom live in Christchurch. It’s good to know that you were out of harm’s way. But the more news reports that I see regarding the damage in Christchurch, the more my heart goes out to all of those who are affected by the earthquake. It was almost exactly 10 years ago Feb. 28, 2001) that we experienced a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in my area and although the damage wasn’t nearly as devastating as what happened in Christchurch, it did affect many lives. To Salty Dog, Dee Thompson and the McGraths, Thank you for your concern.

Mercifully we are well out of the turmoil that is Canterbury, but so very, very sad as is the rest of New Zealand. We are such a small country so this is very hard to bear, but having said that we are a pretty determined lot and will rebuild!

Its the loss of life, not property that matters and what we grieve for. We are very proud of the way people have responded in this crisis and grateful for the response from all our overseas friends. Please continue to pray for NZ.

Good to see the update for Christchurch, for sure. I was so concerned for Billie and Tom. as well. I don't think we can over due our prayers to Australia & New Zealand for all the deaster they have aquired. How sad. Blessings to them all and prayers going out everyday.
