Below are a selection of pics from the Sydney International Boat Show, the Book Launch and the Book Tour to date.
Pic 1: A bit of fun with Mike Perham, James Castrission and Justin Jones at the Sydney Boat Show, in between book signings and our presentations at the Better Boating lounge. It was great to be back at the Show again. What a lot has happened in a year!
Pic 2: Also at the Show, I had the chance to catch up with Parrys Raines (check out www.climategirl.com.au), a pretty amazing 15 year old and I showed her around Ella’s Pink Lady.
Pic 3: Ella's Pink Lady was very popular at the Show, attracting lots of attention!
Pic 4: When we launched True Sprit, it was a lovely night. One of those where you have to pinch yourself and say "wow, is this really happening"! Here's one of me doing my presentation on stage.
:
Pic 5: Alan Jones was kind enough to host the book launch for us. Here I am on stage chatting with Alan.
Pic 6: And another shot of the beautiful Orpheum Theatre which held almost 700 people at the launch
Pic 7: The first of many book signing sessions on the Tour!
Pic 8: During our brief stop at Canberra on the book tour, we had time to stop in to the Australian Search and Rescue headquarters with a box of cupcakes, to say thanks to all the guys for keeping an eye on me while I was at sea. What an impressive set up they have!
Pic 9: The book tour has been great fun so far, just a little crazy!! This is at one of many school presentations and yes I’m in there somewhere!
A big thanks to everyone who has bought the book - I hope you like it!
Jesse

Perhaps I missed something these last 8 months.stevep
Have just bought your book and am half way through!! Amazing stuff. Well done. I can only imagine the courage and determination to undertake such a huge task out there on your own, despite such an awesome support team.
Hope to meet you sometime in the future. Leanne, Adelaide.
Best!
Cheers
Edwin
We met in Adelaide today at the book signing, I was about seventh on stage and mentioned that I followed from day one and as Aurora SA my crew fell into your charms and writing, A Big Thank You for the book and for all the encouraging you have given us old salts to keep sailing, even though I had just come out of hospital today following knee surgery I felt inspired by your presence as was most of the crowd. As I have written before I hope my children and grand children read your book, follow their dreams and be able to inspire those around them as you have done. My friend who is 83 yrs old and still sails occasionally has your picture in his boat and has said if Jess can do it then so can we all.
From all the crew of Aurora SA again well done and Thanks for the Memories- Luvya Jess
A great night last night in Clare, even though you and Louisa were late! Hahaha! All is forgiven, since we also had to pass those roadworks!
It was wonderful meeting you and thank you again for my books and hug! It was terrific to see all the kids there and that they felt confident to ask questions. It was inevitable the dunny one would come up, aye?! Haha! Hope you enjoy tonight and stay rugged up!
Cheers ..... Soldier's Mum xxx
Hi Jessica,
I just read all the posts on your ‘Book Signing’ up to this point) and it sure brought back a lot of good memories of when you were sailing. All the ‘old’ names that came to view got me a little ‘melancholy’ but I dealt with it OK. I might have to sit down someday and re-read all the posts from the beginning of your “dream”. So hello to all and God Bless You!!!
Take good care of yourself Jessica, and don’t forget to wear your seatbelt…lol… I just had to say that…lol… Always remember: God will continue to hold you in the palm of His hands, and the Angels will keep you safe, and I pray that He will guide you through your up-coming years, Jessica. Your faithful friend, fan and follower Michael 75) from Kingwood, WV
Hope you are all well, and hope to hear from some of you who have been sitting back and just reading the comments! We miss you, and will be so happy to see your name among the new comments . . . so, come on make us happy!!!
@Bluefin Annie: No need to apologize for the teaser, I, for one, don't mind getting my anticipation heightened every time a little bit leaks out aboutTrue Spirit; and about the upcoming documentary also!! And, what better advertising, than un-solicitated testimony from those of you who've had the chance to read it, or see bits of the documentary! This is one way we can continue to be supportive of Jesse . . . by word-of-mouth, honest, and sincere, positive feedback on her book. What more help could a publisher desire, than that we give a great review of True Spirit; . . . so, don't hold back, let us know what a lot of excitement we'll all be in for as we finally learn just how bad it was out there, and how well Jessica endured the powerful forces she was up against!! I can't wait to hear all about it . . . and read all about it too!
@ Transplanted Aussie: We're all praying for you Stephen, and hope that you;ll have a shorter time over in China. It really looks bad, but just this evening they were able to free a man who had been pinned down for 3 days, I think they said. So, it must be so rewarding for all those, like yourself, who are right where the miracles can be experienced. Stay safe, and know that we're all keeping you in our prayers!!
@ Maureen: Haven't heard from you in a while, and hope that you are okay. I know that this has been a difficult time, but wanted you to know that you are still thought about and missed, and we keep praying for you to have strength and peace!
@ Molly: You, too, are missed and thought about so much, you have a wonderful outlook on life, and so many lovely interests that you can share with us. Looking forward to your next comments!!
Take care, dear one!
@ Sam: I know you've been commenting, but miss seeing your new Voyage Art, and hearing what you've been up to. I hope that its not just that you're working long hours and not having any fun! Anxious to hear about what's new with you and your comments on Jesse's book!!
Hi to all Jesse's loyal fans . . . she's worthy of the great love you show her, and we are anxious to hear from all the many family members around the world, and their always interesting comments!
Jesse, please, don't wear yourself out! Hope you aren't being managed to the point of exhaustion! We want you to be looking forward to traveling to the United States, and, I would imagine there will be other countries in the future!! You have fans all over, I hope you all saw, and remember, the wonderful chart and map that Mike and one of our family of bloggers created, showing all the countries that people who commented came from. It's amazing!. I'm sure there were thousands of others who have heard about your incredible voyage, but maybe have never blogged before, so didn't leave comments!!!
Take care, all of you lovely people!!

Excellent, well written book. I am half way through of True Spirit and have obtained a treasured autograph from you, after attending meeting at Mentone Grammar in Melbourne. I hope you will become the Young Australian of Year. Now, have you ever considered to become among other things) a professional writer? I would like at least the next volume written by you. It could be a fiction, based on your experiences. You are able to do that. Your writing is sooo good!!! Good luck with your future adventures.

BTW It was nice to spot in your entourage Mike and your sister. Have a fun guys!
looks like every thing is on track and going well. i bet you never thought it would be like this when you where way out there in the middle of the ocean.
God Bless you
Phil
Thanks for the pics!
I'm glad that your book tour is going so well, but take care of yourself! That is one crazy schedule!
it was very interesting to hear in your audio interview that you want to try the mini Transat. I saw those boats at the Annapolis boat show last year and was intrigued at the concept.
I hope that when you come to the US that you could give your presentation as part of the National Geographic lecture series in DC. That would be fantastic.
Best Wishes Always, Special One....Richard in Maryland

It's amazing to read that so many people have already read your book.....I'll get mine sometime in late Aug or Sept, no doubt. Can't wait.
Hugs all around! Nice to read from some of the 'Holics, Clint, Molly, Janell, Hezakiah, Transplanted Aussie and Many More.....I'm aghast that you, T. * * * * * Dear Jesse!
* * * * * * * * I just want you to know that your book, True Spirit, is getting fantastic reviews, and those of us over here in the US are really anxious to have the opportunity to read it!! The last I heard, my copies will be sent out around September 13, during which time we're hoping you'll be here doing the usual TV programs to promote it!!!
* * * * * * * * We're hearing such teasers from all your Australian fans which has heightened our anticipation to get our own copy. I've ordered 3 (so far) so that I can give them to my son, and daughter, who have heard so much about you and your amazing circumnavigation! I know they will love reading all about it as much as I will!!
* * * * * * * * Hope that we'll be able to purchase a copy of the documentary that has been made of your voyage, and the preparation you went through beforehand! Since we are not expecting to be able to see it on TV here in the states, I hope it will go on sale here sometime in the near future!!!
* * * * * * * * I want you to know that you have the most loyal group of fans anyone could want; ones who will be supporting you and will defend you (whenever that may be necessary) no matter what! We're all so thankful that you've been able to keep your blog going, even though we check it many times a day . . . and maybe don't find anything new, . . . when you do post a new update it's still so welcome and makes so many people happy!!! That's powerful stuff, Jesse, to have so many people (all over the world) hanging on your every word, and waiting (not always so patiently) for more!!!
* * * * * * * * I'm sure you will continue to be the humble hero we all see you as, and will remain the naturally beautiful, "fresh faced", young woman we've come to know and love! You've proved to be so down-to earth, gracious, and sincere during what must be a real whirlwind of activity these days! You're doing a wonderful job being a worthy role model for all the young people of the world. That's a heavy responsibility, Jesse, but you're certainly measuring up!!!
* * * * * * * * Will be praying for your continued success in whatever is next on the horizon for you. Maybe you'll give us a hint to what that will be in your book!!!
* * * * * * * * Love and Kisses, Prayers and Wishes . . . for your health and happiness, and a safe trip here to the states, and safe trip back home!!!
