IGA Partnership keeps Jessica And Crew Fit and Healthy!
22-Dec-2011
Jessica’s youngest crew ever to compete in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart yacht race, will arrive at the start line fit and healthy on Boxing Day, thanks to the amazing support of IGA Supermarkets. The IGA brand, owned by Metcash, has proven to be the perfect sponsor partner for Jessica and her crew during their three month campaign.
Andrew Bray, owner of Bray’s IGA Xpress Collaroy Beach and Bray’s IGA Allambie Heights, has supplied the crew with their groceries over the past 12 weeks.
Silvestro Morabito, CEO of IGA Distribution, said he was very pleased with the sponsorship as Jessica and her crew embodies the independent spirit that typifies the IGA Brand – local and independent.
“We could not be happier with this opportunity. The crew are well prepared and will really make a mark on this 66 year old competition. We wish them every success in this endeavour and will follow their progress with great interest,” he said.
Andrew Bray and his staff were delighted to be able to assist Jessica and the crew whilst they were based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
“They have been great to work with we are proud to be able to be a part of this historic campaign and our best wishes to them. I will be out on Sydney Harbour to wish them well on Boxing Day,” Mr Bray said.
Jessica thanked IGA for its support in particular the service provided by Bray’s IGA
“The crew have trained really hard for this, including a relentless fitness campaign, so our food intake has been a crucial component. We are really grateful to have IGA on board as one of our valued sponsors. IGA has ensured the crew has eaten well with lots for fresh fruit and vegies,” Jessica said.
