More Wind and Across the Prime Meridian

16-Feb-2010

After a few frustrating days without much wind, we are pleased to advise that the conditions have improved for Jessica. The wind has picked up with gusts of up to 30 knots.

Jessica has now sailed across the Prime Meridian, the line at which the longitude is defined to be 0° and divides the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.

“It’s great that the wind has picked up and finally pushed us into the eastern side of the world”, said Jessica.

Jessica is now  approximately 800 nautical miles from rounding the Cape of Good Hope.

This Thursday will mark four months since Jessica departed Sydney on 18 October, when she is also expected to pass the 14,000 nautical mile mark of her solo circumnavigation.

Keep watching Jessica’s blog and video for further updates.
